Weapons of Intellect, ‘67
(16” x 16”) Oil
Having moved suddenly from West Coast to East as a Senior in High School, and taken my first ‘formal’ art class that year with Mrs. Butler, WHS’s dedicated art teacher, I began to paint with serious narrative intent after several years of playful explorations. My paternal Grandfather was a ‘kitchen table’ spare time, postcard copying oil painter who’s work adorned many walls in our home. This gave me both inspiration and motivation to discover the worlds to be found within the boundaries of a blank canvas.
